Singer Sharon Kovacs, better known under only her surname, is a new discovery – but a special one! Blessed with a dark, raw voice she mainly sings heavy songs in the style of Lana del Rey and Goldfrapp. Musically she can be compared with Portishead and Paloma Faith. She herself puts it simply: “My music has soul.” Kovacs graduated from the Rock City Institute in Eindhoven in 2013. During her studies she came into contact with top producer Oscar Holleman with whom she is currently working on her debut album that will be released later this year. Kovacs has travelled to London, Berlin, New York and Cuba to work with well-known songwriters. Without even having released a note, she also scored a recording deal in Germany, so it looks like it’s only a matter of time before Kovacs becomes a famous name.
