Beth Hart (born January 24, 1972) is an American singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California, United States. She rose to fame with the release of her 1999 single "LA Song (Out of This Town)" from her second album Screamin' for My Supper. The single was a number one hit in New Zealand, as well as reaching top 5 on the US Adult Contemporary and number 7 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 Chart. The song also aired during Episode 17 of the 10th and final season of Beverly Hills, 90210. Beth Hart also delivered music to the end-scene of the last episode of Californication season 6, with "My California", Subsequent albums namely Seesaw and Live In Amsterdam by Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa, achieved number 1 status on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. Hart's release Bang Bang Boom Boom rose to number 3 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart, as well as the album Don't Explain by Hart and Bonamassa. The album Seesaw rose to number 8 on the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart. Hart has had two number 1 singles in Denmark "As Good As It Gets" and "Learning To Live", as well a platinum selling album, Leave The Light On.
Hart's first album with Bonamassa, Don't Explain, went gold in The Netherlands. In 2014 Hart was nominated for a Grammy Award for Seesaw and she was also nominated for a Blues Music Award in the category 'Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist'.
Early career
While playing the Los Angeles clubs, she enlisted bassist Tal Herzberg and guitarist Jimmy Khoury. In 1993, Hart appeared on Ed McMahon's Star Search several times, ultimately winning the Female Vocalist competition for that season.
Beth Hart and the Ocean of Souls was recorded in 1993. It includes "Am I the One" and a pop-rock cover of the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". Hart released her album Immortal with her band Beth Hart Band in 1996.
Screamin' for My Supper: Career breakthrough
Her next album, Screamin' for My Supper (Atlantic, 1999), featured "LA Song (Out of This Town)", a #1 hit in New Zealand and a top 5 Adult Contemporary chart hit. At the same time, Hart was singing the lead role in Love, Janis, an off-Broadway musical based on Joplin's letters home to her mother.
Leave the Light On, live album and 37 Days
Hart's Leave the Light On was released in 2003. Hart followed this up with her live album Live at Paradiso in 2005. Her fourth solo studio album 37 Days was released in Europe in July 2007.
"Learning to Live" was used as the theme song to Losing It With Jillian on NBC.
Collaborations
Hart collaborated on a song with Slash called "Mother Maria", released on the iTunes version of Slash's solo album, Slash.
In 2011, she worked with Joe Bonamassa, first providing vocals for the track "No Love on the Street" on his album Dust Bowl (March 2011), and on a 2011 album of blues classics, entitled Don't Explain. The duo released Seesaw in 2013.

On July 31, 2012 (October 4, 2012 in Europe), she released her fifth studio album My California. On the same date, she released an EP titled Introducing Beth Hart. On August 23, 2012, her song "Take It Easy on Me" from My California was used in the first episode of the 8th series of the BBC TV drama Waterloo Road.
In December 2012, she appeared with Jeff Beck at the Kennedy Center Opera House, along with a group of blues/rock musicians, performing "I'd Rather Go Blind" in tribute to Buddy Guy, who received a 2012 Kennedy Center Honor for his lifetime of contributions to American culture. This performance led to the collaboration with Buddy Guy, he recorded the song "What You Gonna Do About Me" with Beth Hart for his album Rhythm & Blues.
That same month, it was announced that Hart and Bonamassa were planning a tour in Europe, a live DVD to be made during the tour and a new studio album. In 2012, she released Bang Bang Boom Boom in Europe. It was released the following year in the United States.
In 2014, she released Seesaw. The record was followed by a tour in Europe. As they played in Amsterdam two days in a row, they recorded and filmed the concerts, later released on Blu-ray and DVD. The same year, she performed with Jeff Beck during his Australian tour as a supporting act, joining him on stage during his set.
In 2014, she was also nominated for a Blues Music Award in the 'Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year' category.
Hart's new album "Better Than Home", was released on April 13 in Europe and April 14 in USA. The single "Mechanical Heart" is charting #1 in the "iTunes" Blues song list. The album entered the album charts in the Netherlands at number 1. In the USA the album entered both the Billboard Blues Charts and iTunes Blues Charts at #1. The album also charted in other countries: number 11 in Germany and 33 in the UK, for example.
Hart will be one of the narrators for the upcoming 2015 documentary film Unity.

Beth Xart-Η Τζάνις Τζόπλιν του Μπέβερλι Χιλς
Μπορεί να μοιάζει λίγο σαν ειρωνεία αλλά, πιστέψτε με, δεν είναι διόλου: η Μπεθ Χαρτ έγινε διάσημη όταν ένα τραγούδι της ακούστηκε στη δημοφιλή νεανική, τηλεοπτική σειρά «Beverly Hills, 90210». Μια ευαίσθητη και σοβαρή τραγουδοποιός, που άρχισε να γίνεται ευρύτερα γνωστή μέσω ενός νεανικού σίριαλ. Δεν ήταν, δεν είναι δηλαδή κάτι το κακό. Το αντίθετο. Ηταν το 1999 με το single «LA Song (Out of This Town)» από το δεύτερο άλμπουμ της «Screamin' for My Supper». Αλλά γυρίσαμε πολύ πίσω.
Η Μπεθ Χαρτ, λοιπόν, 15-16 χρόνια αργότερα, έρχεται για την πρώτη της εμφάνιση στη χώρα μας. Την Τρίτη παίζει στην Τεχνόπολη κι έχει και καινούργιο δίσκο στις αποσκευές της, το «Better Than Home». To θέμα είναι να την πετύχουμε σε καλή διάθεση και να μην είναι σε τζετ λαγκ φάση, μια και αύριο βράδυ παίζει στην άλλη πλευρά του Ατλαντικού, στο Τορόντο. Αναλόγως και πότε θα πετάξει για να μας έρθει. Μετά την Αθήνα συνεχίζει για Αρμενία, Ουγγαρία, Γεωργία, Γαλλία, Ολλανδία, Φινλανδία και αλλού.
Σημειώνουμε τους σταθμούς της περιοδείας της, γιατί η Μπεθ Χαρτ ξεχωρίζει πρώτα απ' όλα για τις live εμφανίσεις της, αυτές είναι που αποτελούν το δυνατό της σημείο. Δεν είναι τυχαίο πως έχει χαρακτηριστεί μετενσάρκωση της Τζάνις Τζόπλιν χάρη στην εκρηκτική της σκηνική παρουσία. Κι έμειναν ιστορικές κάποιες live στιγμές της, από το «Whole lotta love» των Led Zeppelin, που ερμήνευσε μοναδικά κι αξεπέραστα το 2004, μέχρι τη συνεργασία της με τον Τζεφ Μπεκ στο «2012 Kennedy Center Honors», όταν και απέτισαν φόρο τιμής στον Μπάντι Γκάι. Ηταν εκεί και ο Μπαράκ Ομπάμα, τον είδαμε να χειροκροτεί στο τέλος ενθουσιασμένος (και όρθιος).
Πρόκειται άλλωστε για μία από τις πιο σημαντικές φωνές στο είδος του μπλουζ-ροκ. Τραγουδοποιός, υποψήφια για Grammy, συνεργάστηκε με σπουδαίους κιθαρίστες όπως ο Τζεφ Μπεκ (σε συναυλίες), ο Slash (σε δίσκους, κυρίως), ο Τζόε Μποναμάσα (συναυλίες και δύο άλμπουμ, το «Don’t Explain» και το «Seesaw») και φυσικά ο Μπάντι Γκάι (στο εξαιρετικό «Rhythm and Blues»).
Λίγο πριν έρθει, μας έστειλε κι ένα μαγνητοσκοπημένο μήνυμα για να μας δώσει κουράγιο στις δύσκολες στιγμές που περνάμε (πού να ήξερε και για τα Euroworking Group): «Το μήνυμα στους Ελληνες οπαδούς μου είναι να μην ανησυχούν. Ησασταν πάντοτε δυνατοί, τίποτε δεν θα σταματήσει την Ελλάδα, έχει μια μεγάλη ιστορία πίσω της και έχετε κάνει απίστευτα πράγματα. Τόσο στις τέχνες όσο και την πολιτική, ιδρύοντας το δημοκρατικό σύστημα. Η Ελλάδα περνάει δύσκολα τώρα, αλλά ο.κ., θα το ξεπεράσει γρήγορα και θα επιστρέψει στην κορυφή. Δεν αμφιβάλλω καθόλου γι' αυτό».
Το καλό με την Μπεθ Χαρτ είναι που άφησε πίσω της τα προβλήματα με το αλκοόλ και τα ναρκωτικά. Είναι πολλά τα χρόνια που είναι «καθαρή», κάποτε κινδύνευσε αρκετά, ήταν εθισμένη, έφτασε στα όριά της, αλλά το ξεπέρασε. Γενικώς είναι βασανισμένη, έχασε και την αδελφή της σε πολύ μικρή ηλικία από AIDS, «ευτυχώς έχω συμβιβαστεί πια με τους δαίμονές μου», λέει. Το ντεμπούτο της «Immortal» βγήκε το 1996, ενώ το φετινό της «Better Than Home» δεν αναφέρεται στα πράγματα που πήγαν λάθος κατά το παρελθόν, αλλά κυρίως στη φωτεινή πλευρά της ζωής. Υπάρχει και η γνώση, πλέον.
