Η φωτογράφος Niki Boon ζει με τα τέσσερα παιδιά της σε μια ιδιοκτησία 10 στρεμμάτων στη Νέα Ζηλανδία και, έχοντας ως χόμπι την φωτογραφία, καταγράφει την καθημερινή ανέμελη ζωή τους στο φυσικό περιβάλλον.Τα παιδιά παίζουν αυθόρμητα στο αγρόκτημα και δεν διαθέτουν σύγχρονες ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές ή τηλεόραση, ενώ ως δώρο γενεθλίων η Niki δίνει σε κάθε παιδί μια σειρά από τις φωτογραφίες τους, καθώς όπως λέει αποτελούν έναν μικρό θησαυρό που αργότερα θα αφηγείται τις παιδικές τους ιστορίες.

I am a homeschooling mother of 4, former pediatric physiotherapist , and passionate photographer living in rural Marlborough New Zealand.

I am a lover of all things travel, wide open spaces , hilltops and warm winds.

I grew up bare foot and free to roam on a large farm in Bay of Plenty with memories that I strive to replicate for my children. My memories though rich, are patchy. I have very few photos of our life on the farm and having lost my mother when I was young the stories that associate with them are scarce, And yet as I grow older with my own family I realize deeply, the significance and importance of those few images, and the longing I have for more.

I believe, in documenting life with raw honesty and that there is beauty in the ordinary. I am inspired by the everyday, the moments and the details within. I believe that within the mundane lie the connections, the relationships and the essence of your family, your story. This is what lifts us up , carries us and keeps us grounded when times are tough, and what I am driven to capture in photographs…. Pictures that will remind you not only what your life looked like , but what it felt like.

…. our memories are so precious and so many… too many to try to keep in our hearts and our heads. Photos can bring back , precious moments in time, and help hold onto memories that might otherwise be lost.
